WESTPORT — The Building Department has issued a permit to demolish the house at 26 Woods Grove Road.
The 1½-story Cape was built in 1947. It has 1,500 square feet of living space, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a basement, separate garage, stone patio and finished half-story.
The owners of the property appealed to the ZBA in June for a variance on a coverage issue. That appeal was approved at the ZBA’s July 23 meeting.
The property traded hands in 2020 for $760,000. It had previously traded for $665,000 in 2016, for $675,000 in 2004 and for $585,000 in 2003. The property’s current assessment is $506,500.
Woods Grove Road is off Canal Street, near the intersection with Main.
