WESTPORT — The Building Department has issued a permit to demolish the house at 158 Imperial Ave.
The 1½-story Cape was built in 1955. It has 1,500 square feet of living space, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a basement, garage, wood deck and a finished half-story.
The property traded hands last month for $1 million. It had previously traded for $775,000 in 2004, for $550,000 in 2000 and for $289,000 in 1996. The property’s current assessment is $493,600.

Back in the winter of 2000 I had an accepted offer on this home. I was disappointed when the owners cancelled our agreement for another offer that came in later. Grrr. But all’s well that ends well — and I ended up on Evergreen Pkwy, in this quirky house I now call home.
