Westoberfest, a craft beer event hosted by the Westport Downtown Merchants Association, will return Oct. 15.

WESTPORT — “Westoberfest,” the craft beer festival planned downtown Saturday, will have an impact on area traffic, according to a police advisory.

The event, set from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, is centered at Sigrid Shultz Plaza off Elm Street. It is scheduled to take place rain or shine, according the Westport Downtown Association, the sponsor.

Sections of downtown streets will be closed to accommodate the gathering, including Elm Street, Church Lane and southbound traffic on Main Street, police said.

Drivers also advised to expect congestion on other nearby streets and parking areas.
