WESTPORT — An Easton man faces a criminal charge of threatening a local woman.

Brooks Thopsey, 43, was charged Nov. 22 with second-degree threatening in connection with the incident.

Police received a complaint last week from a local woman who said that while discussing by phone family issues with her former fiancé — identified as Brooks Thopsey — he became increasingly angry and, according to the report, “was threatening to harm” her.

Thopsey was placed under arrest at his Easton residence on Nov. 22, police said, and brought to Police Department headquarters where he was formally charged and held on $5,000 bond. He was transported the next day for arraignment at state Superior Court in Stamford.
