WESTPORT–A Danbury man faces charges for allegedly harassing and threatening the owner of a Westport cleaning service over the firing of a woman believed to be the man’s wife.

The owner of the service told police on April 3, 2026, that she had fired the employee after learning that she had been arrested in another state for stealing from a customer’s home. After she dismissed the worker, she began receiving threatening calls and texts from “someone presumed to be the fired employee’s husband,” an announcement from the Westport police said.

“Among other statements, the caller threatened that he would kill the victim’s daughter if his demands were not met,” the statement says.

A police investigation pointed to Waleston DaSilva-Sousa, 37, as a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued, police said.

Last Thursday, Danbury Police notified the Westport Police Department that they were holding DaSilva-Sousa on Westport’s warrant. Westport police brought him back to their headquarters, where he was charged with second-degree harassment and second-degree threatening. He was released on $51,000 bond and is due in Superior Court in Stamford on Aug. 11, court records show.
