It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jordan David Kranz, who left this world far too soon on Oct. 27, at the age of 31.
Jordan is survived by his devoted parents, Raechel and Steven Kranz; his loving sisters, Brooke Sheiner (Jordan) and Colby Kranz; his brother, Carson Kranz; and his fiancée, Lauren Halpert, the love of his life. He also leaves behind a large, close-knit extended family and friends who adored him deeply.
Born and raised in Westport, Connecticut, Jordan was a standout student-athlete at Staples High School, where he excelled in football and lacrosse. He earned the prestigious Scholar-Athlete Award, a testament to both his intellect and discipline.
Jordan continued his academic journey at The University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with dual degrees in Mathematics and Economics. While at Penn, he was a proud member of the fraternity Oz (Old ZBT), forming lifelong friendships with his brothers who he considered family.
From the age of 14, Jordan faced immense health challenges — Type 1 diabetes and a recurrent brain tumor that first appeared when he was just 15. Despite enduring three brain surgeries and multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, Jordan’s resilience never wavered. He graduated from Penn on schedule and went on to build a successful career in investment banking, first with Mizuho Bank and later as a Vice President in Healthcare Investment Banking at Bank of America.
Jordan’s professional achievements were remarkable, but his greatest joy came from his relationships. He found true love with Lauren Halpert, whom he proposed to in Maui in December 2024 — an unforgettable trip they sealed with skydiving. Their love story was one defined by laughter, devotion, and shared courage.
Known for his infectious humor and mischievous wit, Jordan was the quintessential jokester, always ready with a prank, a laugh, or a perfectly timed one-liner. His strength, bravery, and spirit in the face of life’s challenges inspired everyone around him. He lived with courage, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30th at 3:00 PM at The Gardens of Boca Raton, 4103 N. Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida.
