I’m writing to share my wholehearted support for Addison Moore, candidate for Westport’s RTM in District 9. 

Addison is twenty years old, and he already gives me hope for the future of our town. At a time when politics can feel divided and discouraging, it is inspiring to see someone his age step forward with sincerity, curiosity, and a real desire to make a difference. He reminds me that leadership begins with caring about people. I first met Addison through my son. They met while riding the same bus as freshman at Staples High School, and have been close friends ever since. Our son then joined Up Next Teens, the nonprofit Addison started to help local students volunteer and serve their neighbors. From the beginning, Addison impressed me with his warmth, focus, and ability to bring people together. He listens carefully, follows through on his word, and always looks for practical ways to help. He is an extremely knowledgeable, bright and capable young man who will be an exceptional voice for our RTM, which I believe badly needs him. We are fortunate that he is passionate about his public service and is a part of our community.

Over the years, I’ve watched Addison take on countless projects that strengthen our community. During the pandemic, he launched Feed Fairfield County, a volunteer effort that helped deliver thousands of meals to families in need. He’s worked with local business owners to connect them with Staples High School students for internships and part-time jobs, opening doors for young people while supporting small businesses. As one of the youngest members of Westport’s Department of Human Services Commission, he helps ensure that town programs meet the needs of families, seniors, and youth alike. In every role, Addison brings the same steady commitment to compassion, collaboration, and follow-through. We often talk about the next generation of leaders. Addison is already living that promise. I am proud to support Addison Moore for RTM District 9 and encourage you to do the same.
