WESTPORT — Sewer line construction this summer will affect traffic in two neighborhoods, according to officials.
- Installation of a sewer line to service the eastern section of Whitney Street and abutting roads is scheduled to get underway Monday, June 19, and is expected to be completed by early August, according to an announcement by Bryan Thompson, the Water Pollution Control Authority’s collection system supervisor.
The new sewer line will service properties on Whitney Street, Roseville Road, Fernwood Road, Plumtree Lane, Pamela Place and Ledgemoor Lane. The work zone will be between Witch Lane and Roseville Road.
Detour hours for through traffic will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Whitney Street will be open to residents of that road, but closed to through traffic.
- Construction of a sewer line along Evergreen Avenue and nearby streets is slated to begin Wednesday, July 5, and is expected to be finished by early August, Thompson said.
The new sewers will service properties on Evergreen Avenue, Evergreen Parkway, Tamarac Road, Lone Pine Lane, Gorham Avenue, Compo Road North and Brookside Drive. The work zone will be between Myrtle Avenue and Washington Avenue.
During construction, detour hours for through traffic will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evergreen Avenue will be open to area residents, but closed to through traffic.
