WESTPORT — The final lineup of candidates for the Representative Town Meeting, the town’s non-partisan citizens’ assembly, has been posted for the November election.
Of the RTM’s nine districts, only three will have contests for the four seats allotted to each district.
The list was completed after the deadline for candidates to file petitions for the Nov. 2 municipal election, which was by the end of Tuesday, according to Town Clerk Jeffrey Dunkerton.
Districts 1, 3 and 9 have more than four contenders qualified for the ballot. The six other districts have only four qualified candidates for the four seats, ensuring their election.
The last time there were so many uncontested RTM district races was 2005.
Following is the final RTM candidate list released by Dunkerton’s office:
District 1: Incumbents Chris Tait, Matthew Mandell and Kristen Mott Purcell; qualified petitioning candidates Richard Jaffee, Abby Tolan and Liz Milwe. Carolanne Curry’s petitions were not qualified.
District 2: Incumbents Jay Keenan, Louis Mall, Christine Meiers Schatz and Harris Falk.
District 3: Incumbents Mark Friedman, Arline Gertzoff, Jimmy Izzo and Ross Burkhardt, and qualified petitioning candidate Don O’Day.
District 4: Incumbents Andrew Colabella, Noah Hammond and Jeffrey Wieser, and qualified petitioning candidate James Bairaktaris.
District 5: Incumbents Peter Gold, Dick Lowenstein, Karen Kramer, and qualified petitioning candidate Claudia Shaum.
District 6: Incumbents Jessica Bram, Seth Braunstein, Cathy Talmadge and Candace Banks.
District 7: Incumbents Brandi Briggs, Lauren Karpf and Jack Klinge, and qualified petitioning candidate Ellen Lautenberg. John Toi’s petitions were not qualified.
District 8: Incumbents Wendy Batteau, Lisa Newman and Stephen Shackelford, and qualified petitioning candidate Rachel Cohn.
District 9: Incumbents Sal Liccione and Kristin Schneerman, and qualified petitioning candidates Nancy Kail, Marla Cowden, Lori Church and Clark Theimann.
