WESTPORT — Three Staples High School juniors have been selected to attend a summit of international students in Singapore this summer.

Anna Ji, Andrew Rebello and Jackson Tracey will represent Staples at the event hosted by Hwa Chong Institution, which invites students from around the world to exchange ideas and experiences. The Westport students will be accompanied to the summit by Staples Principal Stafford Thomas.

This marks the 11th year that Staples students have been invited to participate in the HCI summit, which is designed to be a gathering of high-performing students with an interest in international affairs, particularly Asia. About 80 international students are expected to travel to Singapore for the summit.

The three Staples students elected to attend the July event are described as having “shown substantial leadership capacity and potential, and are academically able and among the top performers in the school,” according to the school’s announcement.
