WESTPORT — A new summer season starts Thursday at the Westport Farmers Market.

The market’s weekly bounty of fresh produce and artisanal foods will open for a 19th year, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, May 8, moving back to the parking lot at 50 Imperial Ave.

A wide range of vendors will be on hand, offering fruit and vegetables, meat and seafood, dairy products, baked goods and other prepared foods, flowers, herbal products and knife sharpening.

A tribute is planned at 10 a.m. for Jon Jaeger, remembered by market organizers as “a special member of the WFM family,” who had worked at the Fort Hill Farm booth. The longtime operator of the Greens Farms Cut Flower Exchange died March 4.

A 2025 “Friend of the Market” campaign has been launched, with $40 donations used to help offset vendors’ fees so “vendors and farmers can take home more of what they earn each week,” according to the market. Donors are eligible for a weekly discount from each vendor, and also receive a Friend of the Market logo bag.
