WESTPORT — It’s May 1. Some celebrate “May Day” with maypole dancing. Others march in international solidarity with laborers.
One thing in Westport, however, is certain: “Beach season” is officially underway.
As of May 1, parking emblems are required to enter Compo and Old Mill beaches through Sept. 30 and, by Memorial Day weekend, Burying Hill Beach and Longshore Club Park lots C, D and E. Here’s a chart of fees charged Westport residents for seasonal parking emblems.

During the season, Compo and Burying Hill beaches also can be accessed by paying a daily fee at the gate. Access to Old Mill Beach is for Westport residents only who have purchased an emblem for the current season. Daily fees are $45 weekdays abd $70 weekends/holidays.
