Homes with Hope, the Westport-based agency tackling homelessness and hunger in Fairfield County, hosted its 16th annual fundraiser — featuring comedian Roy Wood Jr. — on Oct. 14 at Fairfield University’s Quick Center.

Wood, known for his stand-up comedy routines and as a correspondent for “The Daily Show,” won a standing ovation from the crowd at the conclusion of his performance, which was preceded by a reception for guests.

The event raised $300,000 to support Homes with Hope programs, according to benefit organizers.
