FAIRFIELD – The Fairfield Museum and History Center is beginning its “At the Tavern” fall speaker series this weekend, giving visitors a chance to learn more about the role of taverns, food, and drink in New England during the colonial era.

The series features events on Sunday, Nov. 16th; Sunday, Nov. 23rd; and Sunday, Jan. 11th. The presentations are co-sponsored by the Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center in Ridgefield, and each one will give guests a chance to sample contemporary food and drink.
The events include:
- The Flowing Bowl: A History of Punch (Nov. 16th)
- A Taste of the New England Tavern (Nov. 23rd)
- The American Revolution Wasn’t Fueled by Water! Rum, Cider, and the Punch of Revolution (Jan. 11th)
The events are being presented in conjunction with the exhibition Eat, Drink & Start a Revolution! Fairfield’s Taverns, which opens on Saturday, Nov. 15th.
Registration is required. Tickets per talk are $15 for Fairfield Museum and History Center members and $20 for non-members, or $45 for members and $55 for non-members to attend all three talks.
