WESTPORT — Sunday’s Sustainable Goods Eco Market at the Wakeman Town Farm strived to share options for environmentally conscious consumers.

Close to two dozen vendors — all from Fairfield County — offered a wide range of products that were created with a care toward sustainability.

Co-organized by a local environmental activist — Brad Kerner of Fairfield, who many know as “Eco Dude” — the market is another opportunity to see how people can meet their consumer needs while still keeping an eye on helping to heal the planet.

Kerner, who runs an online sustainable store called Eco Evolution, was pleased to partner with the farm on the event.

He said, “When do you get to shop for eco-friendly products and go visit a llama at the same time?!”

Chryse Terrill, an educational instructor on the farm, also appreciated that parents were bringing their kids along, helping to raise their awareness of environmental concern.

“Parents exposing their kids to this stuff is the most important part of this event, as far as I’m concerned,” she said, “and having them grow up with that awareness.”
