WESTPORT — The Westport Library will help kick off anticipation for this year’s Super Bowl by screening, “The Perfect Machine,” a documentary about the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only team to cap an undefeated season by winning the national championship.

The film, hosted by ESPN reporter and “E60” host Jeremy Schaap, will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the library, 20 Jesup Road.

The screening is free; seats can be reserved by clicking here.

“More than a great team, the 1972 Dolphins were also a collection of great personalities — and director Dan Lindberg captured the essence of it all” in the documentary, Schapp said in a library publicity release.

Schaap, an 11-time Emmy Award winner for his work as a sports reporter and investigative journalist, will host a talk after the screening.

For those interested in the Super Bowl and its history, the library has posted a new reference guide, including links to photos, memorable moments and books.
