WESTPORT — The Brubeck Brothers Quartet, led by sons of jazz great Dave Brubeck, will headline a March 9 fundraising concert for the Westport Library.

The “Tribute to Dave Brubeck” event, which library officials said will help support its free programs, begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the library, 20 Jesup Road.

General admission tickets to concert cost $75. A $125 ticket includes admission to a “VIP reception” preceding the performance, featuring a chance to meet the Brubeck family and gifts including a vinyl LP of “Time OutTakes,” with previously unreleased recordings from Dave Brubeck’s masterpiece, “Time Out.”

The Brubeck Brothers Quartet is led by brothers Chris and Dan Brubeck, sons of the late Dave Brubeck, a Wilton resident who died in 2012.

Chris, on bass and trombone, and Dan, on drums, have been performing together for most of their lives, and released their first record in 1966. Over the last decade, their recordings regularly place among the Top-10 selections on jazz radio, according to publicity for the event.

Their father, Dave Brubeck, is recognized as one of the great artists in the history of jazz music. The pianist and composer gained international acclaim in the 1950s and ’60s, with his “Time Out” album becoming the first jazz album to sell one million copies. “Take Five,” the album’s signature song, remains widely recognizable.

The quartet’s other musicians are guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb.

The group has performed at jazz festivals, concert series and other venues across North America and Europe, including Newport, Detroit, Montreal, Hollywood Bowl and Monterey.
