WESTPORT — Spin Doctors, the veteran rock band with hits dating to the ’90s, will be the featured performers at the April 5 concert of VersoFest at the Westport Library.

The band, which has sold more than 12 million albums, will take the stage at 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the library, 20 Jesup Road.

Local singer-songwriter Nick Depuy will open for the Spin Doctors with a set at 7 p.m.

VersoFest, set this year from April 3-7, is the library’s annual showcase of diverse music, media and panel discussions.

Rapper Chuck D, of the pioneering hip-hop group Public Enemy, will appear “in conversation” for the April 3 opening night program.

Also booked for this year’s VersoFest is the rock group, the Lemon Twigs, scheduled to perform the kick-off concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4. Purchase $20 tickets here.

Found in New York City in 1988, Spin Doctors went on to become of one the bands that defined rock music of the 1990s, starting with their debut album, “Pocket Full of Kryptonite,” in 1991.

Among the band’s best known songs are “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes.”

The band’s current members are lead singer Chris Barron, Eric Schenkman, guitar and vocals, and Aaron Comess on drums, bass and keyboards.
