WESTPORT — Explore the trail of Connecticut’s diverse art museums next week, without taking a step beyond the Westport Library.
“An Overview of the Art Museum Landscape in Connecticut,” co-sponsored by the library’s Verso University and the Connecticut Art Trail, will be presented at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, in the library’s Brooks Place program room, 20 Jesup Road.

Carey Weber, of Westport, the Connecticut Art Trail president and executive director of the Fairfield University Art Museum, will discuss the art trail and its member museums, which illustrate “the world-class cultural vibrancy that exists throughout the state,” according to a publicity release.
The art trail is a partnership between 23 museums and historic sites across the state.
Future programs in the series will feature curators and directors of other museums on the Connecticut Art Trail, including:
July 12: Jennifer Reynolds-Kaye, the recently named director of the Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport. The museum was founded by the late Burt Chernow, a Westport resident and professor emeritus at Housatonic Community College, as well as the husband of Westport artist Ann Chernow.
Aug. 2: A presentation on the Weir Farm National Historic Site in Wilton. It is the only national park service site dedicated to American painting, and home to three generations of American artists.
