WESTPORT — After a pandemic-related hiatus, the performing arts returned in full force this week when the district’s Arts in Schools PTA Committee brought the performance troupe Pilobolus to town.

The internationally acclaimed dance ensemble made an appearance at each of the town’s five elementary schools this week, including a show at Greens Farms School on Thursday morning.

“It’s like getting back into the groove,” said Peter Van Heerden, who co-chairs the committee with Erica Melnichok.

He pointed out that Pilobolus, which began in 1971 out of Dartmouth College, has been performing for decades, with many of its shows aimed at entertaining young audiences.

“These guys are at the top of their game,” he said.
