NORWALK — A celebration of the glamor and artistry of Hollywood is coming to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum this weekend.

The Red Carpet Gala, a celebration of cinematic history, will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3rd. The event is co-chaired by Douglas Hempstead, chairman of the museum’s board of trustees, and trustee Ernest DesRochers.

The gala recognizes the mansion’s role in several movies over the years, including House of Dark Shadows and The Stepford Wives. More recently, it was featured in Glacier Bay, starring Emmy-nominated actor and Norwalk resident James Noble, and Mr. Harrigan’s Phone.

Guests can enjoy a formal dinner, silent and live auctions, and a cinematic experience courtesy of the Avon Theatre. The evening will also offer an exclusive preview of The Evolving Icon, an upcoming exhibition held in collaboration with The Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, which will open to the public on Oct. 7th. Attendees are encouraged to dress in red carpet or black tie optional attire.
