
STAMFORD – Work from several Haitian artists is on display in a gallery at the Stamford Governor’s Center, with a reception planned for the new year.
Beauty That Refuses Silence: The Artwork of the Haitian Artist Guild is now on view at The Mayor’s Gallery. The artwork will be up through Feb. 21st.
The exhibition includes work from members of the Haitian Artist Guild, which was founded by local artist Jean Benoit. This organization seeks to support and showcase underrepresented local Haitian artists and provide emerging artists with a way to showcase their work.
Participating artists include Benoit, Wesner Bernadel, Warren Bryant, Danielle Leblanc, Jasmine Nicole, Richard Outlaw, Sharon Smalls, and Samson Tonton. Visitors can meet the artists at a reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 12th.
The Mayor’s Gallery is located on the 10th floor of the Stamford Governor’s Center and is open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. A valid ID is required to enter the building.
