WESTPORT–”First Folk Sunday” is back for a fourth season at the Saugatuck Rowing Club starting next month. On the first Sunday of each month through December, the club will present a different show from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Here’s the lineup:

  • July 5: Travel to Paris in the 1920s and 30s when the Bridgeport-based ensemble The Hot Club of Black Rock plays hot swing, or Gypsy jazz – the music of Django Reinhardt. This will be their first appearance at First Folk Sunday. 
  • Aug. 2: Suzanne Sheridan performs the music of folk singer-songwriter Cheryl Wheeler. Sheridan, who opened for Wheeler at Voices Café several years ago, will sing and play guitar. She’ll be joined by Bob Cooper on keyboards and Howard Kesten on percussion.
  • Sept. 6: Sheridan will be joined by Matt Lavigni to perform the music of “Two Johns” – Denver and Prine.
  • Oct. 4: Westport folk artist Lisa Bastoni, will return two years after her First Folk Sunday debut. Sheridan will join her for a few songs.
  • Nov. 1: Sing along with Sheridan and Bob Cooper as they perform the music of Paul Simon.
  • Dec. 6: Sheridan performs songs from the Great American Songbook. Enjoy the music of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Rogers and Hart and more. Got a request? Mail it here: info@firstfolksunday.com.
