WESTPORT–Staples girls basketball defeated visiting New Canaan 51-20 on Tuesday. The Wreckers have won all of their games by double digits and improved to 4-0.

Chloe Smith led the way with 14 points, hitting a pair of 3-pointers along the way, and had two steals. 

Freya Harvey dropped in 10 points to go along with five assists, four rebounds and three steals. 

Sadie Katzner dropped in a pair of 3-pointers on her way to an eight-point effort and had two assists, two rebounds, one steal and a block.

Addie Talbott logged five points, five rebounds and three steals. Emma Asiel had four points, two assists, three rebounds and a pair of blocks. Marley Belzer contributed five points.

The Wreckers led 10-2 after one quarter of play, 23-8 at the half and pulled ahead 37-11 through three quarters.

Staples will visit Brien McMahon Friday at 5:30 p.m. and go to Norwalk Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 6:15 p.m. before returning home Thursday, Jan. 15 to take on non-conference Torrington at 6 p.m. and then Stamford the next night at 7 p.m.
