NORWALK — A popular weekend event combining pirate adventure and maritime exploration is returning to Norwalk this month.

The Norwalk Seaport Association is hosting its annual Pirates Weekend & Cruise on Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 19th. Guests can enjoy a ferry ride to Sheffield Island and special events on shore.

Ferry departures take place at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m. each day, with a scenic ride across Norwalk Harbor. Upon arriving at Sheffield Island, the pirate reenactment group Bawdy Buccaneers entertains visitors with treasure hunts, games, sea chanteys, and dramatic swordplay. Visitors can also tour the Sheffield Island Lighthouse and learn more about the maritime history of the region.
