WESTPORT–Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, who was Israel’s top military commander during and following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks on Israel, will visit Westport for a community conversation on Nov. 2, presented by Chabad of Westport.

Halevi served as the Chief of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) General Staff from January 2023 to March 2025. His Westport appearance, coming just over three years after the Oct. 7 attack, will be among his first public speaking engagements since stepping down, “offering the community a rare opportunity to hear directly from the immediate past leader of the IDF,” Chabad of Westport said in an announcement.

The program begins at 7:30 p.m., following a private VIP reception at 6:45 p.m. for event sponsors.

Advance registration is required and space is limited. Due to security considerations, the location will be shared only with registered guests prior to the event.
