WESTPORT — Two tennis players from Westport netted honors in the recent New England Junior Tennis Championships.

The tournament, held last week on the campuses of Amherst, Hampshire and Smith colleges in Massachusetts, included 32 top players from around the region, according to event organizers.

Katie Driscoll finished second in the 16-and-under division, while Noah Richer finished second in the 14-and-under division.

Driscoll won four matches during the four-day event, including a three-set victory over the No. 2 seed in the quarterfinals, tournament officials reported.

Richer also won four matches over the course of the tourney.

Driscoll, 15, who recently completed her sophomore year at the Hopkins School in New Haven, previously attended Greens Farms Elementary and Bedford Middle schools.

Driscoll was the top singles player on the Hopkins tennis for the 2023 season, helping lead the team to a 15-0 record. The team won the Fairchester Athletic Association Conference title, the FAA Post-Season Tournament and the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council title. She was selected for the All-FAA 1st Team and All-NEPSAC 1st Team.

Richer, 14, who will be a ninth grader at Greens Farms Academy in the fall, played varsity tennis for the school this spring as an eighth grader.

Both players train at the Solaris Racquet Club in Stamford.
