Staples football improved to 3-0 with a 23-20 win at Ridgefield on Friday night. The Tigers fell to 2-1.

Ridgefield may have been able to slow the Staples ground game, limiting the Wreckers to 57 yards on 24 carries, but Staples did damage through the air.

Quarterback Grant Bozeman completed 15 of 18 pass attempts for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Bozeman completed TD passes to Hunter Pallai and Noah Sandrew. Levi Belzer had four receptions for 74 yards to help keep the chains moving. Nick Tricari rushed into the end zone for the other Staples score.

The Wreckers will host 3-0 Cheshire on Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
