WESTPORT — A fundraiser benefiting the Staples High School boys basketball team Sunday will feature a silent auction and an opportunity for middle and elementary students to meet and play with members of the varsity team.

The event is set for 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the high school, 70 North Ave. It is sponsored by the Staples Boys Basketball Association.

In addition to the chance for younger students to meet the varsity boys team, the auction will include items such as:

• Tickets to the Dec. 4 Knicks vs. Cavs basketball game.
• Two VIP tickets to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
• New York Mets merchandise.
• House seats to a performance of “The Piano Lesson” on Broadway.
