WESTPORT–The Building Department has issued a permit to demolish the house at 238 Hillspoint Road.
The single-story ranch was built in 1920. It has 800-square-feet of living space, one bedroom, one bathroom, a crawl space, brick patio and concrete patio.
The property was the subject of several discussions with the P&Z Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals. The ZBA rejected plans presented to them in both January 2025 and February 2025. An amended application, with the height reduced by 10 5/8″, was filed on Oct. 28, 2025. The application was officially approved by the ZBA in a letter dated Dec. 11, 2025.
The property traded hands in 2024 for $2,250,000. It had previously traded for $300,000 in 1994. The property’s current assessment is $984,000.
