WESTPORT — Prospective Democratic Town Committee members are invited to the DTC’s caucus next month for endorsement to participate in the group.
Any registered Democrat in Westport is eligible to serve on the DTC.
The in-person caucus is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at 8 p.m. in the auditorium at Bedford Middle School.
According to the group, every two years up to 70 Democrats, organized according to Westport’s nine Representative Town Meeting districts, can serve a two-year term, beginning in 2022.
Those interested in taking part will need to complete a form found at this link by Jan. 5.

Important correction to the above post: “Those interested in taking part will need to complete a form found at this link by Jan. 5.”
State Central Rules make clear that no pre-registration is required to caucus or be nominated, no matter what a local DTC requires to the contrary. Anyone who told you, Jarrett, that participants “NEED to complete a form” to participate has misinformed you. We discussed with the leadership this issue and they know that they cannot REQUIRE pre-registration.
Although not required by the State, the DTC is asking that people complete the form in order to save time during the caucus. Interested people can still come to the caucus without having completed the form, however its more efficient if we have a sense of the number of people and general information before hand.
It’s also so we can verify accurate voter registration and district, and to ensure we collect info from those who can’t attend in person due to Covid. Ellen Lautenberg, DTC Chair
Considering the high Covid rate is a live cactus a good idea ?At least vaccination cards should be required
And those whose COVID testing pass muster….
Are they also able to attend?
