WESTPORT — Candidates running for three major boards in this year’s municipal election Nov. 7 participated in candidate forums, organized by the League of Women Voters of Westport, on the nights of Oct. 11 and 12 at Town Hall.

For those who missed the debates, which also were live-streamed, video recordings of both sessions have been posted on the town website for voters interested in gaining insight into candidates’ positions before casting their ballots.

Candidates for the Planning and Zoning Commission debated Oct. 11, and in separate debates Oct. 12, contenders for seats on the Board of Education participated, followed by those running for the Board of Finance. The Nov. 7 ballot will feature candidates seeking election only to municipal boards and commissions. A contest for the office of first selectman will not be on the ballot for another two years, and there also are no contested federal or state offices this year.
