WESTPORT–A Stamford woman was charged with driving under the influence after she collided with another car while leaving Rive Bistro, 299 Riverside Ave., injuring the driver and passenger of the second car, Westport police said.

Uliana Michaelis, 37, was pulling out of the driveway about 8:43 p.m. on April 23, when she collided with a vehicle heading north on the avenue, police said. The driver and a passenger in the second car suffered injuries that did not appear life-threatening. The driver was taken to Norwalk Hospital.

Airbags deployed in both vehicles, which were damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Michaelis showed signs of possible intoxication, police said. She refused a field sobriety test and was taken to police headquarters, where she also declined to submit to chemical breath testing, according to police.

In addition to the charge of driving under the influence, Michaelis was charged with failure to grant the right of way while exiting a private driveway. She was released on $500 bail and is due in Superior Court in Stamford on Friday, court records show.
