WESTPORT — A Pennsylvania woman faces multiple charges for illegally trying to withdraw money from a local bank account using another person’s identification, police said.
Brooke Robinson, 41, of Royersford, Pa., was charged July 26 with illegal possession of personal identification information, illegal reproduction of a payment card, third-degree identity theft, criminal impersonation and third-degree forgery.
Police were alerted about 12:30 p.m. July 26 that a woman had attempted to use what appeared to be fraudulent identification to withdraw money from an account at the M&T Bank office on Post Road West.
Officers dispatched to the scene located the suspect — later identified as Robinson — walking through a nearby parking lot.
Officers were able to determine that Robinson had in her possession personal identification information for an M&T account holder and attempted to use it to illegally access that person’s account, according to the report.
She was taken into custody and transported to Police Department headquarters, where she was formally charged.
Robinson was held on $10,000 bond, and arraigned July 29 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
