Police: Scooter-riding youth seriously injured in crash

WESTPORT — A juvenile riding an electric-powered scooter was hospitalized after suffering injuries in a “serious” accident Wednesday evening on Cobble Hill Road.

The unidentified scooter rider was involved in a solo accident about 6 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 6 Cobble Hill Road, police said in a statement.

The scooter rider was transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment, and was reported to be in serious condition. Additional information about the accident was not immediately available.

The crash is being investigated by the Westport police accident investigation team, assisted by Fairfield police accident investigators.
