WESTPORT — A 30-year-old man faces charges after police were dispatched to investigate an alleged domestic violence incident.

Mykell Mitchell, of Norwalk, was charged last week with risk of injury to a child, first-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Officers were dispatched to a local home Nov. 21 after receiving a call from a distraught woman.

The woman, who police said has a child with Mitchell, told officers that during an argument he had “started breaking and destroying items in the residence” while the child also was on the premises, according to the report.

A warrant for Mitchell’s arrest was issued and, on Dec. 14, he turned himself in at Police Department headquarters. He was held on $75,000 and transported to state Superior Court in Stamford for arraignment.
