WESTPORT–A Stamford man was arrested this week and charged with strangling another person last year in a domestic assault that started as an argument, police said.
The alleged victim told police on May 20 that Danny Roca, 28, had committed the assault on Aug. 9, 2025.
“The victim alleged that during what began as a verbal exchange between themself and Danny Roca, Roca physically assaulted them,” a release from Westport police said. “During this physical encounter, Roca allegedly placed his hands around the victim’s neck. This incident caused injuries to the victim that required medical treatment.”
After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Roca, who voluntarily turned himself in to police on Monday, July 20. He was charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony, and two misdemeanors; disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
He was released without bail and is due in Superior Court in Stamford on Sept. 1.
