Michele Rose Laurita

Following is the obituary for MICHELE ROSE LAURITA, submitted for her family by the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home in Fairfield.

________________________________

Michele Rose Laurita, born Feb. 19, 1984, of Manhattan and formerly of Westport, passed away suddenly on Oct. 3, 2024.

Michele was all heart. She was sensitive, caring, a lover of animals and fiercely protective of those dearest to her. As a passenger in your car, she was bound to request a stop for Starbucks or fast food and sometimes both. She was at ease listening to music in her earphones, watching movies, shows or documentaries and having long conversations either in person or on the phone.

Always direct about her feelings, Michele embraced her humble curiosity and was never afraid to ask strange questions. She had a strong ability to see the people who are most often overlooked and was at her best when she could help to lift someone who was down.

At her core, Michele was truly a unique light. To really know her was very special for those who did. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed

Michele is survived by her adoring parents, Joseph and Adele Laurita; her brother, Joey Laurita and his wife, Emily; many extended relatives and dear friends. Michele was predeceased by her brother, Frankie Laurita; and grandparents, Joseph N. Laurita and Frank and Dell Petrone.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. at Oak Lawn Cemetery mausoleum, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield, where she will be entombed with her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Michele’s honor to: Halfway Home Animal Rescue Team, P.O. Box 312, Oakland, NJ 07436.
