Carl N. Spagnuolo, 87, of Fairfield and former Westport resident, died at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport Aug. 27 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage in June. He also leaves behind his two daughters, Dawn Curtis and her husband Brian of Fairfield, and Elisa Brennan and her husband Christopher of Fairfield. He is also survived by his five precious grandchildren, Justin Curtis and fiancée Catelyn Burzynski, Christopher Curtis, Ryan Brennan, Olivia Curtis, and Brittany Brennan and fiancée Joseph O’Rourke.
Carl was born in the Bronx, N.Y., attended high school at Evander Childs and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University. Professionally, he had a distinguished career as a marketing executive that started with Union Carbide and continued with stints at Stouffer Chemical and Lonza.
An avid reader and New York Giants fan, his true love was traveling the world with his wife and family. His travels spanned four continents with his favorite stops being Aruba and his beloved Italy.
