WESTPORT — Michael Perry, a former executive in advertising sales and marketing, has been appointed to fill a vacant seat in District 2 of the Representative Town Meeting.

The vacancy was created last month by the resignation of Christine Meiers Schatz.

Perry was appointed by a vote last week of the remaining three District 2 members. The unexpired term runs through November 2023 after the next municipal election.

Most recently, Perry was a sales consultant with AdEdge Digital Marketing in Westport, according to the resume he submitted when applying for the vacant seat.

He also previously worked for other media companies, including DDB Needham, PARADE Publications, HachetteMedia and Valassis Communications.

He is currently a member of the Fairfield County Advisory Board for Connecticut Public Television.
