WESTPORT — The town has been allocated $250,000 in state funding to replace sidewalks around Greens Farms Elementary School.
The infrastructure grant is being made under the state’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program, according to an announcement Monday from Gov. Ned Lamont’s office.
The town, according to the announcement, has agreed to kick in an additional $100,000 for the sidewalk project in the vicinity of the Morningside Drive South school.
The local allocation is among a total of $31.3 million in STEAP grants announced Monday, which are designed to help fund infrastructure projects across the state, such as road reconstruction plans, sewer and drainage upgrades, sidewalk and pedestrian safety enhancements, and other capital improvements.
