WESTPORT — Seven students at Staples High School have been selected as “Students of the Month” for January.

They are: seniors Maxwell Manchester, Alessandro Alderucci and Alexa Fass, juniors Susan Monaghan and Ella Slade, and freshmen Edison Kousky and Anita Vinokur.

Students of the Month, nominated by their teachers, are recognized as “cheerful, hard-working, trustworthy students that keep the high school together, making it the special place that it is,” according to the announcement.

They are considered “all-around good citizens” of the high school, Principal Stafford Thomas said.
