WESTPORT — School officials are reminding parents of youngsters who turn five years old on or before Jan. 1, 2023, that they now are eligible to register for kindergarten.

Registering a child now allows the school district to optimally plan for the next kindergarten class.

Registration information is posted on the district’s website under the Kindergarten Registration link.

Parents and guardians are invited to attend a virtual information session about the local kindergarten program on Wednesday, March 16, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The webinar can be accessed via this Zoom link (passcode: 356608).

Orientation sessions for guardians of prospective kindergarten students will take place in May at children’s respective schools.

School-specific invitations will be sent to the families of registered children. For those unsure of which elementary school a child will attend, check the school locator website.
