WESTPORT — Shrieks and squeals filled the Imperial Avenue air Thursday evening.

The late spring tradition that is the Yankee Doodle Fair continues from 6-10 p.m. Friday, June 16; 1-10 p.m. Saturday, June 17; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, June 18.

The Westport Woman’s Club event at 50 Imperial Ave. and the neighboring town parking lot includes carnival rides, snacks, inflatable alien and plush toy prizes, and more.

Traffic might be tricky in the area, and parking on Thomas Road is prohibited until through Sunday. The Imperial Avenue lot is closed through Sunday.

Drivers should expect many pedestrians and vehicular congestion along roads to the fair, police warn, and urge caution and using alternate routes when possible.
