WESTPORT — The town’s annual Memorial Day parade and tribute service will take place Monday, May 30.
The parade will step off at 9 a.m.
The line of march will start near Saugatuck Elementary School on Riverside Avenue, heading north. The procession will turn right onto Post Road West and cross the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge, turning left on Myrtle Avenue, past a reviewing stand in front of Town Hall. The parade then turns left onto Main Street and ends at Parker Harding Plaza.
Immediately following the parade, a service will take place on Veterans Green, paying tribute to the fallen from the nation’s armed services, according to William Vornkahl, president of the Westport Veterans Council.
If cancellation of the parade is forced by inclement weather, the Memorial Day service will take place at 10 a.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.
