WESTPORT — A three-part series on how to make a home more energy efficient, with the goal of helping the town achieve “Net Zero” status by 2050, will be sponsored by Sustainable Westport starting Oct. 3.
The free series will cover the following topics:
“All About Heat Pumps:” Tuesday, Oct. 3
“Everything Solar:” Tuesday, Nov. 7
“Going Geothermal:” Tuesday, Dec. 5
All of the sessions will begin with a 6:30 p.m. reception, followed by the presentation and a question-and-answer period, in the Westport Library’s Komansky Room.
The panels will be led by professionals in the energy field, joined by residents who have adapted their homes with energy-efficient technologies, according to event organizers.
The first program, “All About Heat Pumps,” will feature a presentation by Matt Corona from Abode Energy Management and David Hazel from Mitsubishi Electric Heating and Air Conditioning. Westport resident Alex Geer also will discuss his experience installing a heat pump in his home, including the exploration of installation offers and rebates. To register for the program, click here.
