WESTPORT — As the holiday season “boughs” out, Christmas trees past their prime will once again be collected by scouts from Troops 39 and 139 for recycling.
It’s the 14th year that scouts are offering the pickup service to Westport residents, which this year is set for Saturday, Jan. 6. Trees later will be mulched into wood chips.
Reservations for tree pickups must be made by the end of the business day Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Suggested donation for the service is $20.
Wreaths and garlands cannot be accepted because the wires ruin wood chippers.
