WESTPORT — Food and farmers market in focus.

The seventh annual “Young Shoots” photography contest, sponsored by the Westport Farmers Market, is open to entries June 22-Aug. 3.

Photo submissions — taken at the weekly farm market — are invited from young photographers, which will be judged by age groups of 5 to 9 years old, 10 to 14 and 15 to 18. Winners in each age group will receive cash prizes and an opportunity to attend an art class at MoCA Westport.

“This program embodies WFM’s commitment to building community,” Lori Cochran-Dougall, executive director of the market, said in a publicity release. “We are excited for the return of this super-popular program this year and adore seeing the budding photographer decorate the market with their cameras.”

A reception is planned in August at Gilbertie’s Herb Gardens for all photographers entered in the Young Shoots contest, which is co-sponsored by the Artists Collective of Westport and the Drew Friedman Community Arts Center.
