WESTPORT — Calling all tree huggers.
To celebrate the arboreal pleasures and environmental treasures that trees bring to the community, Earthplace is planning its 4th annual “Toast to the Trees” event April 26.
In conjunction with observances of Arbor Day the previous day, the environmental learning center and wildlife sanctuary will host its own tribute to trees from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the nature center, 10 Woodside Lane.
Visitors are invited to explore the Earthplace trails and trees, which will be burgeoning with springtime growth.
Along the way, there will be arts and crafts activities, as well as beer samples for adults and sparkling beverages for youngsters.
At trails’ end, a beer garden will offer a selection of full-size beers, as well as food trucks, games, a bonfire and s’mores to roast.
