WESTPORT — The community is being invited down on the farm to welcome some new arrivals.
Wakeman Town Farm is looking for nurturing folk to help “socialize” its new flock of lambs to help the animals get accustomed to visitors at the community farm at 134 Cross Highway.
People visiting the lambs “will snuggle them, hold them and watch them play! It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it,” farm officials say in a statement, adding an ironic, “wink.”
Lambs are “social animals and love to be around people,” according to the farm, in its invitation to people and private groups that might like to be around the young sheep.
Lamb “socials,” lasting about 30 minutes, can be scheduled for $20 person by clicking here.
Also, groups comprising a family or friends can schedule private time with the lambs, as well as visits with other animals in the Wakeman menagerie, such as goats, alpacas, chickens rabbits, according to the farm. Click here to reserve a $100 group visit.
